Introduction to Expedition Leadership

This course is aimed at adults with little or no experience of expedition work.  The course assumes no previous knowledge and there is no pre set fitness criteria.

By the end of the course, participants will understand and be able to set expedition aims and objectives taking in to account safety, management, suitability and optimum use of activities.  They will be able to set up static camps and conduct simple day walks.

Successful completion of this course will result in the award of an SCC Standing Camp Supervisors award and an EL grade 6.  This course provides a foundation for those who wish to undertake the BELA award at a later date.
